In the Taisho era, Mitsubishi Joint Stock Company spun off its business one after another. Mitsubishi Mining was established inheriting assets related to mining. Later Mitsubishi Mining 's aggressive business development is also a source of current Mitsubishi Material' s technical capabilities. After the war, the coal division and the metal division were separated by the concentrated exclusion law.

In the 1990s, politics, economics and society in the world changed drastically, such as the end of the Cold War, sophistication of the information society, turbulence of the world economy, further progress of internationalization. Under these circumstances, Mitsubishi Metals and Mitsubishi Mining Cement merged, and "Mitsubishi Materials Corporation" was born. This was not the fact that the Mitsubishi mining industry before World War II was restored, but after the two companies postwar greatly changed, it was born as a new appearance in an equal relationship.
We will continue to contribute to the realization of a richer global society in the 21st century, which has remained the footprint of development with the modernization of Japan.
